PHOTOGRAPHIC POSTCARD. This lot includes 1 section of fabric skin measuring approx. 9” x 11” from a WWII German ME-109. This type of fabric was used to cover the aluminum frame on the flaps and ailerons. Lightweight fabrics such as this were used to reduce the overall weight of the aircraft. / 1 Period photograph of two Luftwaffe Knights Cross-wearing officers conversing with two other Luftwaffe personnel. / 1 Period photograph of five Luftwaffe officers conversing in front of planes and a motorcycle. One officer wears the Knights Cross with Oak Leaves. / 1 Photographic postcard of General of the Luftwaffe Adolf Galland, holder of the Knights Cross with Swords and Oak Leaves. Galland flew 705 missions during WWII. The postcard is autographed by him. CONDITION: the ME-109 skin is a relic but is in solid condition. Photos and postcards show light wear.
