Overall length: 33 1/2". Blade length: 27 1/2". Plain blade with a quillback. Blade is stamped near the hilt “(knight’s head) WKC”. Gilded brass hilt with a large folding guard depicting an anchor and scrollwork. The rear smaller locking folding guard is stamped with a WWII Naval eagle over “M” & “N2732”. Decorated knuckle bow & lion head pommel. Oak leaf & acorn adorned ferrule with lion’s mane backstrap. Cream colored composite grip with multi-strand wire wrap. Gilded brass mounted leather scabbard with the matching serial number stamped on the throat. There is a silver sword knot tied between the suspension rings. CONDITION: blade has original factory polish, but should have its protective coating removed. Hilt retains nearly all of its original gilded finish. Grip is undamaged. Scabbard body is quite solid and the mounts retain 80% of their original gilded finish. Knot shows light wear. The scabbard has a partial paper tag attached. (02-19558/BF). $1,000-1,400.
