Overall length: 16 5/8". Blade is etched over half its length with various foliate & nautical motifs. Blade is stamped on the ricasso “ORIGINAL (squirrel) Eickhorn SOLINGEN”. Gilded brass hilt with foliate & anchor embellished cross guard. Pommel features a German eagle & wreath encompassing a party symbol. Wire-wrapped cream-colored composite grip. Gilded brass scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows only minor scabbard wear. Mounts retain most of their original gilded finish. Grip has a small crack rising 5/8” from the cross guard. Scabbard retains nearly all of its original gilded finish, but has a few minor dents. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18285/BF). $800-1,100.
