WEYERSBERG. A very nice example of a WWII German Postschutz dagger as authorized in 1939 measuring 15 3/4" overall with a 9 5/8" plain blade marked on the reverse "PAUL WEYERSBERG & CO (logo) SOLINGEN". Stylized crossguard with an eagles head at the top and black enameled Party symbol below. The underside of the crossguard is stamped "1731" and "DRP" for Deutsches Reichs Post. Plain pommel adorned with a raised ring tops a dark wooden grip with a Postschutz eagle on the front. Black enameled scabbard with plated mounts. Original chain hanger with clip stamped " D R G M " showing an Assman logo mark. CONDITION: Blade shows significant factory polish with a touch of scabbard wear. Hilt shows very light wear. Scabbard has very light overall. (02-24978/BF). $2,600-3,600.
