A very nice example of a WWII German RAD or Reichsarbeitsdienst dagger. This hewer measures 15 3/4" overall with a 9 1/2" blade that is etched "Arbeit adelt". The opposite side of the blade is marked " RAD J GES. GESCH. CARL EICKHORN (SQUIRREL) C.E. SOLINGEN". Silver plated crossguard, ferrule and eagle's beak pommel with 2 piece horn grips. Black anodized scabbard with plated mounts. CONDITION: light wear overall with a nice patina on the silver plated parts. Blade shows some original factory polish. Scabbard finish is 95%. The screws on the tip may be replacements. (02-24944/BF). NON-GUN. $600-900.
