BAG. A fine example of a later war WWII German RZ-36 parachute & original carrying bag. The RZ-36 model was used by paratroopers jumping from the HE-111 and the JU-52 aircraft. They saw use late in the war primarily in airborne operations during The Battle of the Bulge. The parachute is constructed of cotton, silk & canvas and features quick release buckles. The Fallschirmjager were a branch of the Luftwaffe and fought in large scale airborne operations throughout WWII. They were commanded by General Kurt Student. General Student commanded the first large scale airborne attack in history at The Hague and subsequently the infamous airborne operations against Crete. CONDITION: parachute has not been unpacked, but appears to be in solid condition with operable buckles. The exterior carrying case shows light to moderate wear. (02-18115-3/BF). $2,500-3,500.
