AND A SILVER GERMANIC RING.
1) SCHNAPPS GLASS. A fine silver schnapps glass marked on the base, “WILKENS (logo) 835 8025” indicating that the glass was made by the famous firm, M. H. Wilkens & Sohne of Bremen. Glass measures 2 1/4" in height & 1 1/4" in width. Attached to the glass is an edelweiss & a 3 1/2" x 1 1/4" silver panel engraved, “Unserem hochwerehrten Kommandeur SS-Ostubaf. E. Quiksfeld / Die Unterfuhrer der Hochgebirgsschule der Waffen SS Neustift / Tirol / 29.3.44”. The rough translation is, “Our honored commander SS-Ostubaf. E. Quiksfeld / The subordinates of the high mountain school of the Waffen SS Neustift / Tirol”. CONDITION: glass shows no damage but is tarnished.
2) RING. A silver ring with the face divided in 2 sections, 1 showing half an Austrian eagle, the other showing red & white enameled Austrian/Tirolean colors. The sides have a somewhat floral & vine motif. The inside of the ring is unmarked, however the back side of the ring has a logo & “800”. CONDITION: ring shows light wear with some surface abrasions to the enamel. PROVENANCE: Lifetime Collection of Dennis Ottaway. (02-16036/BF). $750-1,000.
