SQUADRON CLASP FOR SHORT RANGE NIGHT FIGHTER PILOTS AND A NSFK DESK MEDAL. 1) BOMBER PILOTS. A fine example of a gold Squadron clasp for a WWII German Bomber Pilot. Clasp has a gold finished wreath with a party symbol at the base flanked by 9 oak leaves on each side. The center has a silvered winged bomb. The reverse shows single rivet construction and a wide pin. The clasp is housed in its original blue leather covered box with gold writing on the top that reads “Frontflugspange fur Kampfflieger gold”. CONDITION: clasp shows light overall wear. The pin is complete but slightly misshaped. Box shows light wear. 2) NIGHT FIGHTER. A good example of a bronze Squadron clasp for a WWII German Short Range Night Fighter Pilot. The zinc clasp has a dark finished wreath with a party symbol at the base flanked by 9 oak leaves on each side. The center has a bronze colored winged arrow. The reverse shows single rivet construction and is marked “B.S. & S”. The pin is missing. CONDITION: clasp shows moderate overall wear. The zinc is oxidized, leaving a dark gray finish. As stated, the pin is missing and the hinge is broken. 3) NSFK. A fine oval desk medal for the NSFK in its original award box. The medal measures approx. 3 3/4" x 3". It pictures the NSFK insignia on the front with the words “Nationalsozialistisches Fliegerkorps * Deutschlandflug 1938 * “. The reverse reads “MIT UNSEREM FUHRER IM GLEICHEN SCHRITT UND TRITT FLIEGEN WIR FUR UNSER EWIGES DEUTSCHLAND”. The medal bears a facsimile signature and the serial number “7273”. The black leather covered case has a blue velvet interior with a white pad in the top. CONDITION: medal & case both show light wear. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox.
