The overall length of this dagger 14 5/8". The blade is etched "Meine Ehre Heisst Treue" and is marked on the reverse "GOTTLIEB HAMMESFAHR (logo) SOLINGEN FOCHE". Nickel silver crossguard stamped "III" on the reverse, is paired with a nickel silver pommel guard. The black wooden grip has a nickel silver eagle and a black enamel SS button. Black anodized scabbard with nickel silver mounts and incorrect, but original, fire department knot is attached to the scabbard. CONDITION: blade shows primarily scabbard wear with a few spots of discoloration. Hilt shows light wear. Grip has a chip on the lower front. Scabbard finish is somewhat oxidized and worn and there are a few tiny dents on the mounts. Knot shows light wear. (02-24300/BF). $1,500-2,000.
