PISTOLE 657(n) SEMI AUTO PISTOL WITH BLACK HOLSTER. Cal. 11.25mm (45 ACP). S# 30188 (1945). In June 1940, the Knogsberg factory was commandeered by invading German forces. During 1945, The Germany Army Weapons Office order production of pistols in preparation for an Allied invasion of Norway. The Norwegian Model 1914 pistol was given the designation of the Pistole 657(n) & mfg. under German supervision. Per "Colt .45 Government Models (Commercial Series)" by Charles Clawson, "921 were Nazi proofed in the serial number range from 29615 to 30535". Safety lock & ejector not numbered along with grip safety non matching "186"; other parts matching numbered including 5" barrel having German firing proof on lug. Slide with correct Kongsberg crest (used from 1945-1947), German Waffenamt, dated "1945" & stamped with dot & "B" behind rear sight. Frame with script "JB" proof on triggerguard; Jorgen Bjornholt was a civilian sub-inspector forced into to be control officer by the Germans. Frame has "GU INC OMAHA NE" import mark under two piece checkered birch grips. MAGS: 1 nickel plated 7 rd. with blued base having lanyard loop. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster showing light wear & marks. CONDITION: pistol has good phosphate finish showing numerous light marks & scratches. Good grips with marks that pierce through the finish. Good bore with wear to rifling. (24-5547/MD). CURIO. $6,000-8,000.
