PISTOL 657(n) SEMI AUTO PISTOL. Cal. 11.25mm (45 ACP). S# 30067. During 1945, The Germany Army Weapons Office ordered the production of pistols by the commandeered Kongsberg factory in preparation for a possible Allied invasion of Norway during 1945. The Norwegian Model 1914 pistol was given the designation of the Pistole 657(n) & mfg. under German supervision. Per "Colt .45 Government Models (Commercial Series)" by Charles Clawson, "921 were Nazi proofed in the serial number range from 29615 to 30535" (1 of 920); some were assembled with German markings after WWII. Per Clawson book, all appropriate parts correctly match pistol. In the white 5" barrel has only "P" proof on bottom. Slide with correct Kongsberg crest (used from 1945-1947), German Waffenamt, dated "1945" & stamped with dot & "F" behind rear sight. Frame with script "JB" inspector proof on triggerguard. Pistol has phosphate finish w/ two piece checkered birch grips. MAGS: 1 nickel plated 7 rd. with black painted base having lanyard loop. CONDITION: very good original phosphate finish showing light marks, cycling wear & spots of finish loss. Good grips with marks that pierce through the finish. Good shiny bore with shallow rifling.
