KNIFE. Wide 9.5" clip point blade, two thin fullers on either side with iconic "Collins & Co / LEGITIMUS" makers mark with logo and "No. 18", 4.25" heavy brass crossguard with bulbous quillons, pair green horn slab grips retained by 5 brass pins, original tooled Collins sheath with makers mark and logo. This pattern was manufactured by several different makers. The green horn has always been one of the most popular handle material and by far the rarest, most were made with bakelite or wood. CONDITION: good to very good overall. Blade is gray with good markings, old sharpening, cleaned with light pitting. Original leather sheath just complete with discernible markings, glue repair to crack near tip. (02-22698/JS). $300-500.
