CARBINE. Cal. 6.5 Carcano. S# UR3087. Numbers match on receiver and barrel. Import marked on right side of barrel. Fixed open rear sight marked on top "CAL 6.5". Blade front sight. Barrel is marked over chamber " BERETTA GARDONE 1942-XX". Turned down bolt handle. 13 1/4" folding triangular blade bayonet. Hardwood stock set. Buttstock has "bored soldier" ornamentation on the right side made by pressing fired primers into the wood some of which have been removed. Trap buttplate. Provision for side swivels. CONDITION: Stock set has the moderate to heavy wear expected from long service in a harsh environment. 1" crack behind receiver tang. Metal retains 40% of its worn original blue with areas of oxidation and shallow pitting. Bore has strong lands with darkening grooves. (24-6513/RW). CURIO. $150-250.
