Cal. 45 ACP. S# 1884741 (1944). Per "U.S. Military Automatic Pistols 1920-1945" by Scott Edward Meadows, this pistol was shipped to the Commanding Officer at Rock Island Arsenal in Rock Island, Illinois Oct. 2, 1944 (S# block 1,882,000 - 1,885,299). Correct features include Type 19 Flannery 5" barrel, Type 10 Keyes Fiber grips, Type E variation 4 hammer, Type D safety lock tab, Type C slide lock, long tang grip safety, Type 4 arched mainspring housing, Type 2 mainspring housing pin, short 1911A1 trigger, Type C mag. release lock, Type 3 recoil spring plug, Type B recoil spring guide, Type C front & rear sights. Frame has "FJA" inspector initials & crossed cannons proof. MAGS: 1 Scovill & 1 Ridson 7 rd. mags; both has very good blue finish. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: repro. Ithaca 1911A1 box. CONDITION: frame has good original parkerized finish with edge wear, slide lock wear, cycling wear, scattered light marks & patina. Slide has arsenal style parkerized refinish showing light cycling wear on bottom sides & scattered marks. Slide lock has different tone of parkerizing finish; possibly correct replacement. Very good grips. Barrel has very good blue finish around chambers with a few spots of oxidation, very good strong bore. (24-1527/MD). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
