A rare and seldom seen original April 24, 1942 " INSTRUCTIONS TO ALL PERSONS OF JAPANESE ANCESTRY " issued by the Western Defense Command and the Fourth Army Wartime Civil Control Administration from the Presidio of San Francisco, CA. This is the original poster directing Japanese Americans to internment camps for the duration of WWII. Poster measures approximately 22" X 14" and has black letters on an off white field. The poster is signed " J.L. DeWITT Lieutenant General, U.S. Army Commanding. This lot also includes a framed newspaper titled " THE NASHVILLE TENNESSEAN " announcing the bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. The framed newspaper measures about 24 1/2" x 18 1/2". CONDITION: the interment poster shows very light wear and use. The newspaper is quite solid but has yellowed with age. (02-25020/BF). NON-GUN. $1,000-2,000.
