MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 49849. Non matching numbers throughout. Bbl. 31 1/4". Ladder rear sight graduated to 2400 meters. Inverted V front sight with protective ears. Receiver has intact "MUM" and Type 38 characters. Left receiver rail is marked with interlocking circles indicating mfg. at Koishikawa Arsenal. Oval bolt knob. Notched safety knob. Correct 26 3/4" cleaning rod. Hardwood stock set. Buttstock has battle damage on the left side below receiver resulting in a considerable loss of wood. Forend was "duffle cut" between grasping grooves and lower band, and has been professionally reattached. Large (1") "C" carved in left side of grip. Two piece buttstock construction. CONDITION: stock has moderate wear, staining and handling marks throughout except as otherwise noted. Metal retains 75% original blue finish with thinning and wear. Dark oxidized bore.
