This lot consists of 1 Hinomaru-style flag measuring approx. 31” x 26”. There are various prayers written in ink on the white field of this silk flag. The consignor states that this flag was for a pilot. / 1 Very soiled Hinomaru-style flag measuring approx. 40” x 28”. There are various prayers written in ink on the white field of this silk flag. The consignor states that this flag was for an air gunner. / 1 Soiled Hinomaru-style flag measuring approx. 33” x 27”. There is a single prayer written in ink on the white field of this silk flag. / 1 Rising sun flag measuring approx. 33” x 29”. This cotton flag does have scattered insect damage. / 1 Rising sun flag measuring approx. 37” x 26”. The flag has an inked inscription in one corner that reads “Yokosuka, Japan Sunday, May 19 1946.” The other corner has a Japanese inscription with the date “1946.” / 1 Japanese Red Cross flag of a wool blend material measuring approx. 27” x 26”. / 1 Field green cotton canvas knapsack with Japanese characters on the inner flap. All straps & buckles appear to be present. / 1 Japanese bugle measuring 12” in length, with the mouthpiece intact. CONDITION: all items show light to moderate wear, except as noted above.
