SOUVENIR SIDE KNIFE. 1) JAPANESE. A WWII Japanese Naval officer’s dagger measuring 13 1/8” overall. Blade has a single narrow hi with a brass habaki. Gilded brass tsuba with one seppa above and below. White same tsuka with a single 5-petal cherry blossom on each side. Brass fuchi and kashira. No saya. CONDITION: blade shows some light oxidation. Tsuka shows overall light wear. 2) MID-EAST. This dagger was made for the tourist trade and measures 15 1/4" overall. It has two narrow fullers with Arabic writing on one side and a moon and star on the other side. Wood guard and pommel with a two-piece bone grip. Hammered brass scabbard with geometric and Arabic motifs. CONDITION: light wear overall. (02-23072-3/BF). $200-350.
