Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 128927. Bbl. 19". Blade front sight with protective ears. Ladder rear sight gradautated to 2000m. Various parts have mixed assembly numbers. Receiver top has an intact mum with Type 38 markings. Left side of receiver has Tokyo Arsenal markings and serial number. Blued finish with small, strawed parts. Asian hardwood stock set with two-piece butt and left side sling swivels. Cleaning rod is present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Nagoya-made Type 30 bayonet with brightly finished blade and scabbard. CONDITION: stock set shows a large gouge on bottom of pistol grip, scattered dings, handling marks, and some staining. Metal has a mostly gray patina with a couple areas of pitting, scattered heavy oxidation, and traces of an arsenal blue finish. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Bore has good rifling with some light frosting. (24-4857/MJC). CURIO. $300-450.
