Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 888671. Serial number matches on receiver and Triggerguard tang. Bbl.31 1/4". Barrel marked on left side of chamber with "B" proof. Receiver has worn but otherwise intact "mum". Type 38 characters are more crisp. Marked on the left side with Koishikawa arsenal interlocking circles. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2400 meters. Thumb latch is not present on slide. Inverted V front sight. Straight bolt handle with oval knob. Notched checkered safety knob. Cleaning rod is not present. Hardwood stock set. Buttstock has two piece construction. Bottom swivels with original sling. Sling has fading Japanese writing in white. CONDITION: stock has the wear and staining expected from hard service. Buttstock seam is slightly open but still solid. Metal has traces of original blue turning grey and patina with areas of oxidation. Receiver has notably better finish where it had been protected by the dust cover. Dark oxidized bore with worn lands. (24-4171/RW). CURIO. $200-300.
