RIFLE. Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 200. S# match on receiver, bolt and dust cover. Bbl. 31 3/8" worn rifle bore. This training rifle has a receiver that is unmarked except for S# and appears to be cast with integral tang. Magazine appears to be functional. One piece trigger guard with hinged floorplate. Sear spring is not present. Ladder aperture rear sight graduated to 1700 meters. Sight is made with stamped slide. Inverted V front sight. Sight retaining pin is not present. Bolt made with non rotating extractor. Oval bolt knob. Checkered notched safety knob. Late type dust cover without stop. Hardwood stock set. Stock is marked on left side with 2 faint characters in white. Marked on right side with deeply stamped "1112". Upper band is 3 screw Type 99 style with bayonet lug. Short cleaning rod to function as stacking rod. Bottom swivels. Brown rubberized, canvas sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked bayonet with 15 1/2" fullered blade. Cross guard with curve quillon. Hardwood grips fastened by 2 rivets. Steel scabbard. Scabbard has numerous dents and handling marks with a thinning patinaed finish. Bayonet has been sharpened and has extensive wear and loss of finish. Right grip has notable crack. CONDITION: stock set has worn, thinning, original finish with numerous handling marks and does not fit well in inletted areas. Metal has 50% original worn blue turning patina with light oxidation.
