RIFLE. Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 9747. Bbl. 25 1/2". Blade front sight with protective ears. Aperture ladder rear sight graduated to 1500m. Rear sight has AA wing provisions, but AA wings are not present. Rifle is equipped with an original Japanese 4x7 scope serial numbered "687". The maker's mark is obscured, but the scope has good optics. A rubber eyepiece is also present. Bolt is turned down but mismatched, and the bayonet lug is unnumbered. The receiver top has Type 99 markings and mum with a single slash through it. Top rear of the receiver has a Nagoya symbol and serial number. Asian hardwood stock set with two-piece butt construction. Left side sling swivels with a leather sling. A late-war cleaning rod is present. Rear band is transitional in type without provision for a monopod. Bottom of the buttstock has Kanji markings. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Japanese leather scope case. CONDITION: stock set has added varnish with a couple notable cracks in the forend, scattered dings, and handling wear. Metal retains 40% of its original blue with overall fading to gray, some pitting on the bottom metal, and scattered oxidation. Some screws exhibit slot damage. Very good bore.
