CODE NAME ORE. Master Sgt. Stoyka served overseas in the war against Japan in the Operational Theater of China, India-Burma with the Office of Strategic Services (O.S.S.). He also, according to the U.S. Army Separation Qualification record as Intelligence NCO 631 and "was a member of a O.S.S. team dropped behind enemy lines to collect, interpret, and forward to headquarters of all military importance. Acted as radio operator and demolition expert for the team. He made contacts with the French Marquis and compiled information obtained from them. Did similar work in French-Indo-China, collected and transmitting information to allied headquarters concerning enemy troops."
