Cal. 30-06. S# 4798918. Bbl.24". Marked behind front sight "SC" with a flaming bomb and "10-43." Aperture rear sight graduated to 800 yards. Blade front sight. Swept bolt marked on top of handle "B2" and marking underneath appears as "F." Safety lug is Remington style, as is the bolt shroud. All stamped furniture, including large bow triggerguard and fine checkered trap buttplate. Walnut stock set with two recoil bolts. No acceptance marks are visible. The grip is marked underneath with encircled "P" proof. Assembly marks are visible ahead of the trigger guard. CONDITION: stock set has a worn appearance commensurate with extensive service. There are numerous handling marks as well as a small area of O.D. green paint on the left side of the handguard. The metal retains about 50% of its original finish with thinning and wear. Very good, shiny 4-groove bore. (24-3922/RW). CURIO. $600-900.
