2 STICKPINS, & A WWI 1st CLASS IRON CROSS WITH SPANGE. This lot contains items of questionable authenticity that may be of post-WWII manufacture. We encourage interested parties to examine items in this lot closely and in person, if possible. Preview times are available upon request. 1) BALLOON. A seldom-seen WWII German Balloon Observer’s Badge. This stamped badge features an oak leaf wreath with a Wehrmacht eagle at the top and a central Observer’s balloon. The badge appears to have, at one time, had a silvered finish. The reverse has a narrowed pin. (02-22528/BF). 2,3) STICKPINS. Two small stickpins featuring a General Assault Badge. Pins have knurling in the center. (02-22528/BF). 4) IRON CROSS. A WWI 1st Class Iron Cross with a non-magnetic center and an integral Spange attached to the top. The reverse has a screw-on rayed circular device for attachment, and the Spange has a small pocket clip attached. (02-22536/BF). CONDITION: the Balloon Badge has an oxidized finish, both on the front and the reverse. Stickpins show light wear. Iron Cross also shows light wear with some tarnish to the silver. NON-GUN. $100-300.
