SNIPER'S BADGES, & AN NCO BREAST EAGLE. This lot contains items of questionable authenticity that may be of post-WWII manufacture. We encourage interested parties to examine items in this lot closely and in person, if possible. Preview times are available upon request. 1) GENERAL ASSAULT. A rare "100 Assault" General Assault Badge featuring a gilded brass oak leaf wreath with an exceptionally large silvered Wehrmacht eagle covering the top and center. The base has a small rectangle housing a gilded brass "100" just below a crossed bayonet and stick grenade. The reverse has a wide pin with 4-rivet construction and the side of the wreath is marked "JFS" in a rectangle. (02-22524/BF). 2) SNIPER. An embroidered WWII German Sniper’s Badge with silver bullion border and highlights. The reverse of the badge is stenciled "B & N BERLIN". (02-22529/BF). 3) SNIPER. An embroidered WWII German Sniper’s Badge with silver bullion border. The reverse appears to be stiffened black cotton. (02-22529/BF). 4) BREAST EAGLE. An unissued NCO grade German Wehrmacht breast eagle with flat silver bullion on dull olive green all sewn to field green wool. (02-22529/BF). CONDITION: badge shows light wear overall. Both Sniper’s Badges appear unissued but are obviously by different manufacturers. Breast eagle shows some degradation to the bullion. $300-400.
