GERMAN CROSS. This lot contains items of questionable authenticity that may be of post-WWII manufacture. We encourage interested parties to examine items in this lot closely and in person, if possible. Preview times are available upon request. 1) HORSE BREEDER. An attractive example of a WWII-style German Thoroughbred Horse Breeder’s Badge. The award depicts a black enamel “R” within a black enamel garter surrounding a gilded laurel leaf wreath. The reverse has a buttonhole attachment that reads “CHR. LAUER NURNBERG-BERLIN”. (02-22555/BF). 2) GERMAN CROSS. A very appealing and well-made WWII-style German Cross in silver. The cross depicts an 8-pointed, multi-rayed star with a red enamel ring. There is a silvered laurel leaf wreath atop the ring with the date “1941” at the base. The central motif features a black enamel party symbol on a silvered field. The reverse has 5-rivet construction with a wide, silver pin. The reverse is engraved “Oberst d. Polizei Hans Moser SS 276 746 WuVHA Ordnungspolizei 17.2.1944”. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: photocopy of information on SS Standartenfuhrer Hans Moser. (02-22771/BF). CONDITION: badges both show light wear with tarnish and some minor loss of finish. There is no enamel damage on either badge. $800-1,200.
