An example of a likely post WWII German Technische Nothilfe dagger or hewer measuring 16" overall with a 9 1/2" plain blade marked on the reverse " (teno eagle) GES. GESCH. ORIGINAL (logo) Eickhorn SOLINGEN ". TENO eagle crossguard with a bird head shaped pommel displaying a cogwheel on the front. The 2 piece cream colored grips, numbered and with the Eickhorn logo on the reverse, are secured by 2 screws. Black enameled scabbard with plated tip and throat. CONDITION: blade shows scabbard wear and appears to have been heavily buffed. Hilt shows very light wear. Scabbard has light overall wear. There is a black leather hanger with clip marked "TH. SEIBOD OFFENBACH A.M. 1937". There is also a silver, black, and blue knot for the enlisted technical service attached to the frog. We feel that this dagger is of post WWII manufacture possibly with some original parts. Please feel free to examine it in person to form your own opinion. (02-24437-8/BF). NON-GUN. $300-500.
