REVOLVER WITH PERIOD U.S. NAVY HOLSTER. Cal. 38 Spl. S# V191387. Mfg. 1942 for the US Navy with black parkerized finish. Standard configuration with matching numbered 4" barrel, 6 shot fluted cylinder & extractor. Replacement two piece smooth walnut grips. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: vintage luggage case with painted "CHRISTIAN L.C." & "USN". Case contains WWII revolver rig including Russet unmarked holster, Khaki web belt, USN MK 1 scabbard marked "NORD-4723 / B.M. CO 5 vp"., USN MK 1 style knife, 1943 dated first aid pouch ink marked "Zittle" & small ammo pouch. Rig in good intact condition showing light wear. Case also contains silk East Asian escape map & compass. REFERENCE: An example of the holster & pouch is illustrated in "Grunt Gear" by Alex Tulkoff, page 284. CONDITION: revolver has very good finish showing faint cylinder turn line & heavy cleaned pitting under grips. Grips have good finish with deep handling marks & 2 large cracks on back of left panel. Darkened bore with distinct rifling & spots of pitting. (24-1780/MD). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
