Cal. 30-06. S# 3092124. Bbl. 24". Remington 8-42 dated with a flaming bomb. Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2700yds without volley notch. Bolt parts, mag cutoff, rear sight, and front band are all "R" marked for Remington. Other parts appear unmarked. Metal has differing shades of arsenal-parkerized finish. Receiver, bolt, cutoff, and bbl. markings have added white highlight paint. Two-bolt walnut stock with finger grooves and bottom-mounted sling swivels. Bottom of wrist has two partially faded circled "P" firing proofs. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: GI canvas muzzle cover marked "TWEEDIE 1944" and "U.S.". CONDITION: refinished stock set has added varnish with a repaired 2" crack running from behind the upper tang into the left side of the stock, some improper band removal wear, and some handling marks. Metal retains 80% of its arsenal-parkerized finish with scattered thinning and edge wear. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Bright, near excellent bore. (24-5813/MJC). CURIO. $600-800.
