Cal. 30-06. S# 2439323. Bbl. 24". Springfield Armory-made and 11-43 dated. Throat gauges 1.0. Muzzle gauges 3.0. Blade front sight with protective ears. T105 adjustable aperture rear sight. Rifle appears to have seen Danish post-war service with "7269" electropencil number on bolt and matching stamped number on underside of stock. Gas cyl. lock is marked "PB" for Beretta. Balance of other parts are of GI Springfield Armory mfg. Parkerized finish. Walnut stock set with bottom-mounted sling swivels and canvas GI sling. Underside of wrist has circled "P" firing proof, and bottom of pistol grip has cutout for disc. Left side of butt has an open "SA" Springfield Armory rebuild stamp. Front handguard is loose. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: US M1942 bayonet made by Union Cutlery with Danish "HMAK" scabbard. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal oil finish with small crack at rear of front handguard, a repaired chip on bottom of wrist, scattered dings, and handling marks. Metal retains 70% arsenal rework parkerized finish with some light dings on left side of receiver, scattered edge wear, and thinning. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Very good bore with some dried grease but strong rifling. (24-5820/MJC). CURIO. $1,200-1,500.
