Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# C1903. S# matches on receiver, bbl., bolt, buttplate & floorplate. Bbl. 23 3/4". Import marked on the right side of the bbl. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Inverted V front sight with protective hood. The receiver is marked on top with the Yugoslavian National 5 torch crest. Receiver ring marked on left side "A" over "PREDUCECE 44". Receiver rail is marked "Mod. 98." Bbl. is marked over chamber with "13A," "A," and an inverted "U" in the triangle. Blued steel bolt with turndown handle. The extractor is plum-colored. Laminated stock set. Buttstock is marked on the left side with S# and small, encircled marking, which appears "UA." The right side of the buttstock has (bored soldier) "X.". All milled furniture except for the cup-type buttplate. Steel takedown disk. Provision for side slings. Upper and lower bands are retained by a single spring. The upper band is solid type. A bayonet bar and cleaning rod are present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 10" fullered blade. Mauser-type bayonet. The right ricasso is numbered "4591u." The cross guard is numbered "4779." Smooth walnut grips. Matching blued steel scabbard. Bayonet has worn out. Bayonets and scabbards are heavily coated with protective grease. Both retain a fair degree of their original finish. CONDITION: stock has moderate wear, staining, and handling marks. Approx. 2" crack in grip behind receiver tang. Metal retains 60% of its worn, thinning blue, with small scratches and handling marks.
