Cal 58. S# 1188. Bbl. 33". Blade front sight. Folding leaf rear sight. Italian-made repro Mississippi rifle. Blued bbl. and band keepers. Case-colored lock and hammer. Brass furniture. Walnut stock with brass patchbox, bottom-mounted sling swivels, and leather sling. Tulip head ramrod that is too long and likely is a replacement. CONDITION: stock shows scattered handling marks. Brass parts are turning a dull yellow color with scattered oxidation. Lock and hammer retain most of their case colors with some scattered, light oxidation. Blued parts retain most of their finish, with some handling marks and a couple patches of oxidation at the rear of the bbl. Lock is functional when hand-cycled. Bore shows scattered, dried grease and oxidation but strong rifling. PROVENANCE: the estate collection of Charles Wagner. (01-25721/MJC). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
