DRESS SWORD.
Overall length 39 1/2". Blade length 33 1/2". Single fullered blade is etched over half its length with foliate & fireman’s motif including ladders, helmets, axes, pikes & more. Highly embellished backstrap transitions seamlessly to an exceptionally well-articulated lion’s head with red faceted eyes. The reverse P guard is heavily decorated with various fire motifs. Wire wrapped sharkskin grip with large leather & silver bullion knot attached. Black leather scabbard with heavily silver-plated mounts. A truly exceptional sword of obvious artistic merit and possibly the finest fireman’s sword we have encountered. CONDITION: blade shows substantial original factory polish.
